“Persian art and architecture in fifteenth-century Deccan”
Located in the lush village of Asht?r just outside Bidar in modern-day Karnataka (India) and amongst the royal tombs of the Bahmanids (r.1347-1528) is the tomb of Ahmad Shah Bahmani (r.1422-1436), cheapest viagra an epitome of the Iran-India connections and of the Sufi-Sultan relations in South Asian visual culture. In this lecture Peyvand will explore how Persian and Arabic inscriptions in verse and prose found in its highly adorned interior give material form to the connection between Ahmad Shah and Sh?h Ni?matull?h Wal? (d.1431), founder of the Ni?matull?h? Sufi order in Iran.
